I was walking on the side of the road in Cape Town, South Africa and I tripped and fell flat on my face. I immediately went to the Emergency Room and saw a doctor. However, a week after the incident, my face was still incredibly swollen and painful so I went to a different doctor while in Namibia who referred me to a radiologist and a dentist. The fall had spit one of my teeth which began an infection in my gums. My health insurer did not cover me over seas and I had no travel insurance. On reaching the US 2 weeks later the infection had spread in to my head and I was hospitalized. With no health cover I had to sell structured settlements to gain access to money for my operation
